The five price factors
The price of custom glass is made up of a number of fixed components. If you know them, you will immediately understand why one window is more expensive than the other.
1. Glass type
Float glass (normal clear glass) is the cheapest. Toughened glass, laminated glass, colored glass and insulating glass cost more due to the extra processing or construction.
2. Thickness
Thicker glass weighs more and costs more per square meter. Commonly used thicknesses are 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm; the correct thickness depends on the size and application.
3. Area
Glass is calculated per square meter (width × height). Please note that a minimum surface area often applies: for a very small window you pay the minimum rate.
4. Edits
Drillings, recesses and edge finishing help determine the price. In the glass configurator you choose what you need per glass type and you will immediately see the additional cost.
5. Shipping
Glass is fragile and is insured with specialized transport delivered. Shipping costs depend on size, weight and destination. Do you want to know when your order has arrived? View the delivery times.
See the price immediately
You don't have to do the math: in the glass configurator you enter your measurements, choose the type, thickness and treatments, and the total price is displayed live - including VAT choice. This way you know in advance exactly where you stand.
Please note: custom glass is custom work and is not covered by the right of withdrawal. So check your measurements carefully before ordering.
